What are you grateful for today?

It’s Friday! The day of the week everyone hustles so hard to get to! Looking back over your week, what are the moments that you are grateful for having? This is something I have started focusing on so much more over the last few weeks. This morning, on my drive home from my workout I thanked God for the cloud covered sky and that it was cooler than when I left earlier. I’ve thanked Him for teaching me how to slow down and wait on Him. I’ve thanked Him even for the struggles. I cannot see everything He is doing, but I know He is up to something.

In the season you are in, what are you thanking God for? Where are the places that you can see the evidence of His presence in your life? Where are the places that you need to surrender over to Him? In the season I am in, I am grateful that He is showing me how to quiet the noise around me and really spend time seeking Him and listening to His voice.

I’ve been learning a lot about the difference between being grateful and being stuck in the noise. It’s an attitude shift. A heart posture shift. Try it. Studies show that you can’t be grateful and anxious at the same time. Let the Lord shift your perspective. Unplug. Turn of the noise and let His presence wash over you. Put on praise if it helps you focus on Him. Try it. See if you notice a difference.

Proverbs 15:30 (NLT) “A cheerful look brings joy to the heart; good news makes for good health.
