Today I had the pleasure of visiting with one of our local grade school teachers and principals. It was for a class project with a leadership program I’m involved in, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. What I did get to see was two women teach with passion that can only come from God. They both genuinely enjoyed what they were doing, and it was evident not only in how they taught, but in how the students responded to them. The teacher’s fire and passion when she described how she had switched majors from pre-med to elementary education was inspiring. She is impacting the students that she teaches in life changing ways.
As I listened to her my mind began to wander to how God truly does give each one of us individual gifts and passions. Everyone wants to be categorized as the best of the best! I believe that if we are following God’s calling on our life, no matter what that looks like, HE gives us the passion to be the best of the best where we are. The world NEEDS passionate life bringers in every single walk of life! One of my favorite scriptures is John 10:10. It’s familiar because the first part is frequently quoted. I love to fixate on the second part of the scripture because it embodies how I think God means for us to life, regardless of our station or situation.
Take some time today to sit with God and ask Him if you are operating in the calling He has for you and ask to receive a passion for whatever it is you’re doing in life! If the world had more folks passionate for living, loving, investing in people, we’d see a whole lot more folks interested in living and loving like Jesus does!
